Our Programs

Competitive Race Program

Our program helps young skiers develop strong fundamental skills, learn to be part of a team, gain joy and passion for skiing in a fun and challenging team environment. Our experienced coaches focus on progressive skill acquisition, knowledge of the skier’s responsibility code and safe skiing, and respect for the mountain. This program inlcudes training in Sipapu and at all USSA Southern Series races of the season. We train on Saturday and Sunday from 8:45am–3pm. Our competitive program is designed for athletes who are committed to making their mark in winter sports. Please refer to our 2016/2017 season calendar for details about our training an race schedule.

USSA RACE SERIES

All ski team racers are encouraged to participate at the 4 USSA Southern Series races scheduled thoughout the 2016/17 race season. There will be no training in Sipapu on those 4 race weekends.

SYNC RACE SERIES

U14 and older racers may be eligible to participate at select SYNC races. Santa Fe Ski Team has included 3 SYNC races as an option for advanced racers in our program this year. Eligibility will be determined by our head coach. A meeting with racers and parents will be held after the regular training on Saturday, December 17th to confirm participation and additional cost for this race series.

ONE DAY PROGRAM

This program gives racers the option and flexibility to participate in only one training day per week, either Saturday or Sunday. Your choice.

FUTURE STARS

We offer a special introductory rate for "Future Stars". Future Stars are first time junior members of the team, U-12 and under, who have never been on the Santa Fe Ski Team before and who have never been a member of another ski team. This is a great opportunity to explore if ski racing is a sport you may develop a passion for.

MASTER Program

Masters racing is a division of the U.S. Ski Association and is designed for every level of skier ability ages 21+, from entry-level racers through ex-national team members. The Masters daily schedule consists of gate race training and free skiing, with an emphasis on drills and skier development as a way to improve and further enjoy skiing. The Masters program consists of serious free skiers (serious about having fun and exploring), as well as skiers who just enjoy being outdoors.
